Bill, affectionately known as ‘Jeep’, has spent the bulk of his working life servicing the Walgett community. Most recently, he worked as a Land Service Officer-Aboriginal Communities with North West Local Land Services, following on from working with the former Catchment Management Authority.
Bill has brought many opportunities to the Aboriginal community of Walgett, Lightning Ridge/Angledool, Narrabri, Wee Waa/Pilliga and Collarenebri areas to enable increased access to Country and traditional knowledge sharing for the Kamilaroi Nation. The protection of many Aboriginal sites of significance across the North West has also been an achievement that the modest Bill can proud of.
Bill has built and nurtured a myriad of valuable partnerships and relationships in his community; his leadership and actions throughout his career have carved a path for others to follow to continue to build value for the North West and Kamilaroi communities.
Bill will be sadly missed by his colleagues; however, his retirement will no doubt be studded with the successes of his continued dedication to his community.
