Coach Tracie Lane said a new addition for this year was tumbling classes, an acrobatic routine held on a 25-metre spring track. The discipline combines artistic gymnastics skills on the floor with those of trampolining.
Lane said the first few classes were skills tests so the gymnasts could be grouped according to their level.
Coaching partner Kerry Hunt said people of all skill levels were welcome to attend.
“What they get out of it all depends on the individual,” Hunt said. “Last year’s club champion was Grace Grantham, and she only started doing gym two or three years ago.”
Classes are held every Thursday at the PCYC from 3.30pm to 4.30pm followed by tumbling classes.
