Josh Elbourne was named the overall runner-up 12-year-old champion for the event. He also broke an ‘all comers’ record at the carnival in his 50-metre backstroke event.
The boys 12 years and under medley relay team also won second place.
Day one was a success for Moree with everyone coming home with some fantastic PBs and many receiving medals for their races.
All of the team were placed within the top six finalists for some of their events.
On day two of the event Ben and Emily Di Donna, Josh Gabbie and Chloe Elbourne once again came home with many PBs, medals and most importantly smiles on their faces.
“Their hard work and dedication to training is definitely starting to pay off,” a representative said.
Meanwhile, the club also recently competed in the 2015 Speedo Sprints Heats Series.
Several team members qualified to compete in Sydney at the Speedo Sprints Finals later in the year.
“Once again they all showed great sportsmanship towards their teammates and competitors,” the representative said.
It’s been a big start to the year for the local swimmers who also competed at the Country Regional Championships at Lightning Ridge last month.
“These championships are well known for some very tough competition so well done kids, fantastic swimming,” they said.
