About Our Client

You will be joining a well-established manufacturing company that have a long history of producing a range of both metal and plastic packaging options for their customers.

You will be based at their Preston manufacturing plant in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.

Job Description

As the Maintenance Electrician on the afternoon shift, your key responsibility is ensuring that all electrical breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and project work across the site are attended too You will work very closely with the Day shift electrician, fitters and other members of the maintenance, production, and management teams to ensure the site, equipment and machinery are maintained and operating correctly Some of your day-to-day tasks will include;

• Attending break downs, fault finding and carrying out electrical repairs
• Diagnostics of break down using PLC ladder logic
• PLC fault finding and programming modifications
• Carry out planned maintenance tasks as per schedule
• Shut down work as required
• Identifying any risks, or continuous improvement initiatives
• Completing all paperwork, including any risk assessments, updating the CMMS system etc

You are an experienced and maintenance electrician who is looking for a role close to home, that suit your hours and lifestyle, working for a company that value their staff, who will give you ongoing training and support, whilst encouraging you to step forward with your suggestions and improvement ideas.

You will also have:

• Qualified Licensed Electrician with manufacturing experience
• Extensive experience working on industrial machinery / equipment
• Solid understanding of PLC's, fault-finding and ideally programming (Siemens, Allan Bradley and Omron PLC's on site)
• Excellent communication skills
• A collaborative team player
• Knowledge of VSD Drivers, SEW, Siemens, Lenze

Good understanding of relay logic equipment.

Being a manufacturing/packaging company, any relevant experience you have with packaging equipment, machines, special purpose automated machinery etc will be highly regarded.
