Grab your last minute tickets for a family-friendly, fun day out at the rugby club all to support the Thomas family whose lives drastically changed in early August.
Young Paige was playing with her cousins after school, like any usual day, when her mother noticed a change in her walk and became worried.
Paige was flown to Tamworth that night and to Sydney’s Randwick Children’s Hospital ICU the following day.
After an MRI, specialists diagnosed Paige with Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy (ANE).
ANE is a rare, severe and rapidly progressive disease that affects the brain.
Friends and family of the Thomas family banned together to organise a fundraising event on Saturday to ease the financial burden of Paige’s rehab and the ongoing costs of living away from home.
And with tickets only $10 a pop, why not head down and enjoy kids entertainment, live music, auctions, a bar and delicious food.
The kids corner will have a jumping castle, face painting, a colouring in competition, cupcake decorating and, weather permitting, Harley rides for the kids.
“Because Happy (Paige’s dad) is the manager of the Harley store in Moree we thought having Harley rides might be a fun way of incorporating his passion into the day,” Brianna McNamara said.
There will also be a live auction, silent auction, food, a bar and both local bands Avenue for Troy and the Contingency Plan playing on the day.
So far, organisers have seen nothing but generosity from local businesses and individuals who have gone above and beyond to help make the day special.
Grab your tickets by heading to the website www.trybooking.com/YAEM.
The fundraiser kicks off at 3pm and goes until late.Tickets will also be available on the gate. There will be raffles and the auction will start at 5pm.
