Police will allege at around 4am this morning the boy was one of four offenders that attempted to gain access to a business on Heber Street Moree.
The local boy was arrested a short distance away after attempting to flee police on foot.
A stolen vehicle, taken from a Moree home on Wednesday evening, was recovered at the scene and will be forensically examined by specialist officers.
The boy has been charged with ‘Be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner’, ‘Destroy or damage property’ and ‘Larceny’ and is expected to appear before Moree Bail Court sometime later today.
Enquiries are continuing.
