Gwydir Shire Council spokeswoman Georgia Standerwick said inclement weather was behind the decision to reschedule the event, planned for today.
“We’re expecting a lot of rain and thought it would be preferable to hold the festival, now in its 11th year, when it is drier,” Ms Standerwick said.
The festival is so named because Warialda is believed to mean “Place of wild honey” in the local Aboriginal language.
A main attraction has been the talent quest, “Honey, I’ve got Talent”, as well as market stalls, rose demonstrations, a high tea and children’s entertainment.
The event is usually held at the Warialda Recreation Ground.
