The Carers Week lunch, organised by Moree Aged and Disability Services, was held at the Post Office Hotel on Thursday, October 19.
“We invited some of our carers out and shouted them lunch for the good job they do throughout the year,” Meals on Wheels worker Lorraine Abrahamsen said.
“It’s also to give them a break and for the carers to get together and share similar stories. There’s heaps of carers in Moree that do a fantastic job, so we’d like to say a big thank you to all our wonderful carers.”
As well as a delicious lunch, the carers received a parcel of homemade biscuits, baked by the Meals on Wheels ladies.
National Carers Week (October 15 to 21) is all about recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution Australia’s 2.7 million unpaid carers make to our nation.
