A 17-year-old male has been airlifted to Newcastle following a serious motor vehicle accident in Moree overnight.

Around 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 18 emergency services were called to a collision involving a registered motorbike and a heavy vehicle at the intersection of Gwydir and Coolibah streets in Moree.
The rider of the motorbike, a 17-year-old boy learner rider, was treated by ambulance and conveyed to Moree Hospital with multiple fractures and lacerations.
He has since been airlifted by ambulance for further treatment to his injuries.
Officers attached to Barwon Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver of the heavy vehicle is assisting investigators with their enquiries.
