The theme on Wednesday was Beach Party which saw attendees don brightly coloured floral shirts and plenty of leis as they enjoyed a lovely meal put on by the Meals on Wheels volunteers.

They got to catch up over a delicious morning tea made by members of the community, followed by lunch and a few games of bingo in the afternoon, as well as raffles.

Every three months Moree Aged and Disability Services puts on a themed lunch for the people involved in their aged care program and disability group.

This year they have had Wild West and Christmas in July themes.

Moree Care’s activities coordinator Byron Phillips said the themed lunches add a bit of variety to their weekly activities.

“It’s a chance for everyone to catch up,” he said.

“It’s a really nice way of people networking and connecting again.

“It’s very inclusive.”

Mr Phillips said events such as the themed lunches wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated ladies who volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

“It’s a very important part of the service,” he said.
