Around 5.20pm on Sunday, September 24 a teenage girl walking along Alice Street Moree was approached by a group of males.
The males attempted to grab the victims bag from her shoulder. The victim resisted and was punched in the face by one of the offenders before they all fled on foot towards Warialda Street.
The offenders are described as males of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander appearance, thin build, between 165cm and 175cm tall, 15-18 years old.
Anyone that was in the area around this time and has not yet spoken to police is urged to come forward.
“Residents are reminded that the smallest piece of information, which may seem insignificant on its own, often proves to be the missing piece of a much larger puzzle,” Superintendent Paul McDonald said.
“If you were in the area between Frome and Gosport Streets around 5.30pm in Sunday maybe you saw something – maybe someone appeared to be acting suspicious or maybe you’ve heard something since this time.
“Local police are extremely interested in what you know, what you have seen or what you have heard.”
If you know something, do something – your information could be the last piece of the puzzle that Police need to solve a case like this.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/
Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
