Student work from all TAS (Technology and Applied Studies) and CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts) subjects was on show at the annual Expo event, including metal work, woodwork, textiles and design, hospitality and food technology, visual arts, music, dance and drama.
Students from years 7 right through to year 12 students about to complete their HSC had woodwork, metal work and artwors on display, while dance and drama students gave impressive performances throughout the two-hour event, held at the Albert Street campus on Thursday, September 21.
Music students entertained visitors in the courtyard, while hospitality students provided a selection of delicious finger food for the evening.
Moree Secondary College deputy principal Angela Heath said the event is all about showcasing the major works of the year 12 students, as well as providing the younger years an opportunity to show their family and friends what they’ve been working on in class this year.
“We want to showcase the amazing work that year 12 students create but it’s also something that young people doing creative electives can aspire to,” she said.
“Major works are a massive part of the HSC. We try to work hard with our students to get the best products we can. We’re also seeing some really gifted young people in the junior grades coming through.”
Ms Heath said Thursday’s Expo was once again an outstanding success, with all visitors impressed with the high level of work on display.
“It went absolutely fabulously,” she said. “We had a great turnout from parents and the community.”
Friday was the last day of school for year 12 students before they begin their HSC next term.
