The owner of Dipper’s Home Timber and Hardware was dedicated to the Moree community, being heavily involved in Moree Race Club and Gwydir Industries, as well as a supporter of a range of community and charity events.
Moree mayor Katrina Humphries paid tribute to Dipper on Monday, saying his death is a huge loss to the community.
“The community has lost a character,” she said.
“Dipper was the star of the show, he was vibrant, energetic, intelligent, passionate and extremely generous with his time.
“Our hearts go out to Rebecca and his children during this terribly sad time.”
Dipper will be farewelled at a service at All Saints Anglican Church Moree at 11am on Tuesday, September 19 followed by a private cremation. Dipper’s family invite the community to join them at the Pally Pub after the service to remember him.
In lieu of flowers, a donation stand will be at the church for friends to donate to Gwydir Industries, Moree.
