Around 9.20am this morning (Thursday, September 14) Police responded to calls of a trespasser in Kirkby Avenue.
A short time later a 19-year-old male was arrested in Lorna Rae Avenue.
The teenager was conveyed to Moree Police Station where he was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant relating to break and enter offences, resist police and posses prohibited drug.
Enquiries are continuing into the origin of a number of items found in his possession which police believe to be stolen. Bail has been refused by police.
“Reducing and solving crime requires community input too and this can include providing us with information as to the location of wanted people or when suspicious activity, such as this which occurred this morning, is noticed,” Barwon Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector David Silversides said.
“There are currently a number of wanted persons broadcast on the Barwon LAC Facebook page.
“Residents are urged to regularly check this site in the event that they have information which may assist us,” he said.
