Children aged from six to 14 are invited to come along and participate in the learn to fish weekend at Gum Flat Reserve on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20.
Registrations begin from 9am Saturday, with the last weigh-in at 12pm on Sunday.
The event is free for all children, with more than $1,000 in prizes and giveaways.
There will also be a sausage sizzle running throughout the weekend.
This is the third fishing day the Lions Club has hosted this year, with more than 80 kids in attendance at the last carp muster in June.
The project is funded by the Department of Primary Industries Habitat Action Grants and aims to teach kids the correct way of fishing and fishing techniques, as well as providing them with the basic knowledge of our waterways. Lions also hope to promote the township of Moree and engage the local community by having the events around the waterways at Moree.
