SOCIAL housing tenants living in Moree received on-the-spot home repairs and assistance at a maintenance pop-up run by the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) on Wednesday (July 26).

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall welcomed the pop-up coming to Moree to provide a face-to-face opportunity for tenants.
“This is a terrific initiative and I hope it won’t be the last,” Mr Marshall said.
“This is a great service for tenants, and the face-to-face meetings meant tenants were able to get their problems addressed on-the-spot.
“There’s nothing like being able to talk about the issues directly with the service provider and I commend FACS for taking this initiative.”
FACS held the event in partnership with the regional maintenance contractor, O’Donnell Hanlon.
In addition to on-the-spot repairs, the pop-up event provided an opportunity for tenants to notify and discuss their maintenance issues with FACS staff.
Minister for Social Housing Pru Goward said the pop-up maintenance event improves service delivery and tenant satisfaction.
“We want every social housing tenant to have a positive experience and this pop-up gives them the chance to meet with our maintenance contractors to discuss any maintenance and repairs that their property needs,” Ms Goward said.
