Saving the Jolly Grind is set in a town called Mungadoo where the locals are a passionate bunch who come together to support each other through thick and thin.
The Jolly Grind, owned by hippies Bob and Winnie Williams (Tom Stanley and Stacey Garsed), is the local coffee house/short order diner/bar/nightclub/hangout and this year marks its 40th anniversary.
However, when their old bank gets overtaken, the Jolly Grind faces foreclosure so it’s up to the locals of Mungadoo to band together to save the much-loved establishment.
Saving The Jolly Grind will take the stage on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 at the Mungindi Hall.
Both performances promise to be full of high quality entertainment with plenty of fun and laughter as Mungindi locals take to the stage in the hottest show in town.
Audiences will be able to sing along to some iconic hits from the 70s through to the present day, while the costumes and choreography are sure to provide plenty of amusement.
Dinner will be provided and a full bar will be in operation from 6pm.
Secretary Tia Carrigan encourages everyone to come along for the not-to-be-missed show.
“With a full bar and dinner provided the show is sure to go off with a bang,” she said.
“Throw in a great noodle box from Relish catering and an amazing assortment of sweet treats from local groups and you have the recipe for a great night out.
“The added advantage is at the end of a great night of entertainment and fun (either laughing with or at the cast) is knowing that the funds raised will be put back into our little community of Mungindi. Win, win.
“Come and support the town of Mungindi and get behind the cast and committee who have volunteered their time to raise money for our wonderful community.”
MMADS has proudly supported the Mungindi Central School, St Josephs School, the Community Preschool, Mungindi Hospital Auxiliary and Mungindi Hall Committee over the years, just to name a few.
Tickets for the show and dinner are $50 and are available at the Daily Grind or call Ally Orchin on 0417 543 467.
