Giniyarr Elders of Mungindi hosted the first Elders Olympics with teams from Moree, Gunnedah, Wee Waa and surrounds participating on the day.
In different groups the Elders had to participate in a number of games to win points for their overall team score. Hoop throwing, ball throwing, magnetic fishing and ring toss were a few of the day’s activities.
Scorers from Mungindi Central School were collecting important information as the games continued.
At the end of the day trophies were awarded and the winning town was announced with the rights to host next year’s Olympics.
