Lodge Courallie raised the money at their annual trivia night- this year’s theme was all things pirate.
MasoniCare then matched, dollar for dollar the amount raised on the night to assist Moree’s Gwydir Industries with their building extension.
Gwydir Industries’ Eric Carrigan said the concrete extension had been in the pipeline for a while.
“Our cardboard, paper and plastic will be stored underneath the concrete area, along with our forklifts in wet weather, before it is removed from the site,” he said.
The projects total cost estimates up to $15,000 and Lodge Courallie’s donation will further diminish the costs.
“Work will begin either later this month or early July,” Mr Carrigan said.
The team of Gwydir Industries thanked Moree’s Lodge Courallie for their kind donation.
Worshipful master Wayne Hamilton said although numbers were down at this year’s trivia night, the fundraising goal was around the same as previous events.
“Our aim is always to raise money for local community organisations that assists Moree and its surrounding areas. We were very happy to visit Gwydir Industries and know the donation will assist them,” he said.
Mr Hamilton highlighted the help of MasoniCare’s dollar for dollar donation to boost the overall amount.
“We will continue to raise money for local charities and organisations in the future,” he said.
