A 4WD utility was used by the unknown offenders to gain entry to the business in Frome Street around 5.30am Sunday, June 11.
The vehicle was driven into the front of the building causing considerable damage to the front doors of the premises.
The offenders left with a Yamaha YZ 250 FH and Honda CRF 125 FB. Three other motorcycles stolen during the incident were recovered nearby.
Barwon Local Area Command are investigating links to a number of stolen vehicles from Goondiwindi, Queensland during the same time frame.
“It comes as a timely reminder for locals to secure their vehicles and homes at all times. Today’s world no longer allows you to leave your vehicles and homes unsecured, no matter where you live,” Detective Inspector David Silversides said.
“Thieves are always on the lookout for any opportunity that arises whether that might be a motorist ducking into the shops or someone who leaves their keys in the car overnight. In addition to the inconvenience it may cause, you could also be looking at voiding any insurance you have”.
“The best practice to employ is to always lock your home and vehicle, keep valuables out of sight and don’t leave keys and wallets in easy reach of offenders seeking access to your home.”
Barwon LAC are calling on anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who knows the offenders involved to contact Police.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Callers can remain anonymous and all information is treated with the strictest confidence.
