THE Moree Boars will host a ‘9s day’ on July 1 to celebrate the footballing life of legend Bernie Briggs (dec).

Briggs played 142 first grade games, 10 reserve grade and 37 junior games with the Boars. He scored a massive 93 tries and kicked 183 goals.
He represented Group 5, Group 4, Northern Division, and played against the touring Great Britain side.
He won many best and fairest awards and premierships in both Group 4 and Group 5. He also was a life member of the Moree Boars
The club are inviting all past players, old boys, committee members, coaches, family and friends to attend the event.
The Boars will take on the Inverell Hawks in a twilight match with the girls starting at 1.30pm folllowed by U18s, reserve grade and first grade around 5pm.
There will be an auction of a set of Boars retro jumpers from number 1-17.
All proceeds will go towards a ‘9s bar; in the new club house the Boars are trying to build at their home ground.
