The Under 12’s entered two teams and played five games all together.
They beat Barraba, Scone and Quirindi narrowly lost to Armidale.
They played Narrabri, their arch rivals in the last game of the day.
It was very even for the whole game, but the Narrabri backs scooted away for some late tries and the home team came away with the win this time.
The Moree team showed some great pick and drive in the forwards during the day and they have been playing very well all year.
Best performers on the day were Hugh Ross, Billy Finlayson, Tom Young, Isaac Barnes and Oscar Crawford.
The Under 10’s also entered two teams on the day and both teams played very well.
Coaches Warby and Reardon have got the squad cleaning out very well presenting good clean ball for the backs.
The Moree teams beat Armidale, Tamworth and the two Scone teams.
They narrowly lost to Inverell and they had a close game against Narrabri where they went down by two tries.
Best performers on the day were Darcy Brazel, Harry Rogers and Hunter Warby who tackled all day, Will Boland in his first carnival and Billy Barwick, who scored three tries against Scone.
The Under 8’s put two teams in for the second week running, which is a great effort.
There are many new faces this year with most children playing rugby for the first time.
They have steadily shown improvements each week and they continue to train hard every week with the results showing on Sunday having won a few games.
Best performers on the day were Will Gillingham, Jack Rogers, Roger Vickery, Violet Crawford and Alex Warby.
A group of under 6’s had a skills day with NSW Rugby Development Officers.
This was a great learning day for the little kids, who are enjoying running around and having fun with their mates.
The club is still welcoming new faces so if you want to join up come along to Weebolla Oval on Thursday nights.
