The Pally Pub recently donated $500 to the Pallamallawa War Memorial committee from the proceeds raised at this year’s two-up competition.
Part-owner and licensee Fred Brown said this year’s Anzac Day two-up was well attended.
“It was supported very well from everyone,” he said.
“We had people from Pally and busloads from Moree; we got heaps more than we expected.
“It was a lovely day.”
Each year the money from two-up is donated back to the war memorial to go towards work on the impressive honour roll and pillars which were unveiled during the Anzac centenary in 2015.
Pallamallawa War Memorial committee president David Steer said the $500 will be used to purchase another column.
“Each column represents the fallen from World War I,” he said. “When we initially did the project, we missed two people, so we have two more columns to go.”
Mr Steer said the war memorial committee is very appreciative of the Pally Pub’s ongoing support.
“It goes to show community spirit is alive and well,” he said.
