Mothers were treated to homemade scones, made by the preschool children, and hand massages from their kids, while the children had a great time making the most of the brand new turf playground.
Previously there was only a dirt outdoor area at Crooble Hall, so the Tharawonga Parents Fundraising committee got together to raise money to create a better space for the children to play.
“They were getting stuck playing in the hall all the time and in summer it’s just too hot,” vice president Jemma Makim said.
With the help of local parents, community members, a significant donation from Johnstone’s Concrete and Quarry and a Cotton Growers grant, the children now have a permanent grassy area that will benefit Crooble families for generations to come.
There was a ribbon cutting and cake to celebrate the opening on Monday, May 8.
