Since Sunday carnival workers have been setting up rides and are now battling with muddy grounds.
From Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning Moree received 21.6 mm of rain, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
However, the show must go on and everyone is excited to see what’s in-store for 2017.
A few of the carnival workers mentioned some new rides as well as old favourites.
A haunted house train ride has been set up along with a few tall rides for those who aren’t afraid of heights.
The tilt has been placed in its usual spot and the tea cup ride is ready for Moree’s youngsters to enjoy.
Show gates will open from 7am on Friday to start horse events for the day.
The three pavilions will open at 9am and later on around 5pm rodeo gates will open with a $10 entry fee.
Saturday’s jam packed with different events starting with the pet show at 9.15am, junior showgirl at 11.30am and woodchop at 12pm.
Country music singer Amber Lawrence will sing in front of the grandstand from 1.30pm before the official ceremony starts at 2.30pm.
The annual grand parade will begin at 3pm.
Moree Show Society members will be in the secretary’s office from 3.30pm taking nominations for the ute barrel race and demolition derby.
Three V8 trackskill ute shows will take place at 5pm, 6pm and 6.45pm.
The dog high jump will begin at 5.30pm followed by the young farmer’s challenge at 6.30pm.
Show-goers will see and hear the spectacular fireworks from 7.15pm and afterwards the ute barrel races and demolition derby will take place.
According to the BOM there is only a five per cent chance of rain on Friday but temperatures will fall with the maximum estimated to hit just 20 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with a top of 21 degrees with light winds becoming west to south-westerly during the day.
Be sure to take a jacket each night as lows will be around six degrees.
President Brendan Munn reminded show-goers of the change to this year’s entry gates.
“We have a few new things this year including a new entrance gate, which is directly at the end of Gosport St and 100 metres east of the current entrance,” he said.
Entry is set at $5 per day this year, an amount said to be affordable for all.
The Moree Champion will be out and about on Friday and Saturday capturing all the action from horse events to cattle and plenty more.
