Their role first began before the day itself, preparing and baking a large batch of Anzac Day biscuits.
The girls then marched from the old library to the Moree Memorial Hall for Tuesday’s main service.
During the service, Girl Guides and the Scouts carried crosses to represent local service people who were killed in 1917.After the service, the girls walked around with trays of delicious Anzac biscuits for locals and visitors.
Bella Fernance and Lucy Kilner were two of the many girls helping out on Tuesday.
“It’s the importance of remembering what the soldiers fought for and why we have such a beautiful country,” Bella said.
“And why we can live freely and happily,” Lucy added.
