The Suns are currently sitting sixth on the Tamworth AFL competition ladder, just ahead of last-placed Tamworth Swans, after losses to Inverell and Gunnedah in rounds one and two, while the Eagles are coming fourth.
First grade co-coach Angus Croft said it should be an interesting match-up.
“We should go alright,” he said.
“We beat them last year, so I wouldn’t mind beating them again.
“They had a pretty big win in round one but then had a big loss to Inverell.”
Croft said the game plan this week is to try to bring the ball into their forward line, in a different way to what they’ve been doing over the past few weeks.
“We want to try and build a stronger midfield as well,” he said.
“We got pretty convincingly beat in the midfield [against Gunnedah].”
The Suns are hoping a big crowd will come down to Taylor Oval to support them this weekend, with the first grade match to kick off at 2pm.
Training has now been moved to Ron Harborne Oval every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6.30pm. New players are welcome to come along.
