The Boars had another successful trial match on Saturday, March 25, defeating the Macintyre Warriors 20-18.
First grade coach Ronald Prince was pleased with the outcome, considering Moree were down 18-4 earlier in the match.
“The boys played really well,” he said.
“We had some game plans and stuck it out. We ended up getting on top of them with five minutes to go.”
Boars league tag girls also came back from behind to draw with the Warriors.
“Our girls played really well,” Prince said. “They were getting beaten and came back, scoring two tries all.”
Prince said the seniors’ biggest strength on the weekend was their forwards.
All the boys are really excited about the start of the season and the club’s all abuzz from our win on Saturday.

“I’m really impressed with our forwards – all of our forwards stood up and we had a couple of young juniors who stepped up to play A-grade,” he said.
A good crowd turned up to Boughton Oval to support the Boars during their second trial match on Saturday ahead of the start of the Group 19 rugby league season this Saturday, April 1.
The Boars will travel to Armidale take on Narwan Eels, who re-join the Group 19 competition this year.
“They’re normally a pretty strong club; we’ve got a strong tradition with Narwan so it should be a good match,” Prince said.
While Prince is confident after two wins from two trials, he said there’s still plenty to work on ahead of this weekend.
“There’s still a lot of stuff we need to work on but we’ve got the whole year to keep improving,” he said.
“We’ve got to work on our structure and some of our set plays; we’ve got to nut those little things out and work around our halves.
“It’s a new team and we’re still finding out strengths and weaknesses of players and still working on our game plan.”
Prince said everyone’s looking forward to their first game this Saturday.
“All the boys are really excited about the start of the season and the club’s all abuzz from our win on Saturday,” he said. “It’s a great way to start the season.”
