Botanica Home and Tea Room has just re-opened in Heber Street.
New owner Lucinda Chick is keen for locals to know the Moree institution is here to stay, with its calming ambience and fresh line of gift and homewares.
“Our team room is flourishing,” Mrs Chick said.
“We serve morning coffees and teas, lunch and afternoon and high tea.”
Slices, torts and Italian biscuits are also on the menu to tempt taste buds.
"We have introduced to the tea room a variety of salads,” Mrs Chick said.
“The most popular being Pearl Couscous with Roasted Beetroot, Sweet Potato, and Honey glazed walnuts or Moroccan Sweet Pumpkin, chickpeas, rice and quinoa salad.
“They’re tasty and nutritious and proving very popular with our customers,” Mrs Chick said.
Botanica Home and Tea Room is also the perfect place to browse for soft furnishings, fragrant soaps and candles.
There’s also new lines, including The Luxuriate candles, Sleep Sanctuary diffusers and body wash and Darcy and Duke cushions and gifts.
“Our aim is to create and calming atmosphere in the tea room and a homely atmosphere throughout the shop,” Mrs Chick said.
“There are comfortable couches in the team room where you can sit back and relax.
“Many customers say it doesn’t feel like anywhere else in Moree.”
It’s also the perfect place for a high tea, baby and bridal showers.
High teas are a tradition that began in Britain in the mid-1700s; an afternoon meal usually served between three and four o'clock.
This pause for tea has returned to become a modern, fashionable social event.
Botanica Home and Tea Room has supplemented the traditional high tea with ribbon sandwiches, Penelope Sach teas and Byron Bay Coffee Company coffee.
“We’ve taken care to make our shop special and original and want people to have an ‘enjoyable experience’ when they browse through,” Mrs Chick said.
Our opening hours for the shop are Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm and Saturday, 9am to midday; tea room hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm Tuesday to Friday, Saturday 8.30am to 1pm.
