During the early hours of Sunday morning, police from Barwon Local Area Command responded to an attempted break-in at a Frome Street business.
A 15-year-old boy was located by police on the roof of the business and taken into custody without incident.
The local boy was taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence and goods in custody.
The boy was also charged with offences relating to the theft of a handbag and attempted theft of a motor vehicle from a licensed venue in Moree on Saturday.
The boy remains in custody at Moree Police Station pending an appearance at Bail Court some time later on Monday, February 20.
