The Moree Day VIEW Club is a group of local women who enjoy getting together and having fun, while raising money for a good cause.
VIEW stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women. The club provides women with the opportunity to meet regularly, establish lasting friendships and help disadvantaged Australians through supporting the work of The Smith Family.
The Moree club has been running for more than 40 years and currently has 28 members but would love more to continue the good work they do.
“Funds raised by our club are used to assist with the education expenses of young people in need,” publicity officer Sue Knibb said.
“Our club currently supports two Learning for Life students. We provide a certain amount of money that goes towards books, uniforms and the like for one high school student and one primary school student.
The group meets for lunch on the fourth Wednesday of every month at Moree and District Services Club. New members and guests are always welcome.
“Anyone who is interested in joining our club is welcome to attend one or more of our monthly lunch meetings to get a feel for what we are about,” Ms Knibb said.
“Should they then decide to join VIEW, there is a one-off joining fee of $20 and an annual subscription fee of $15. Our club’s activities do not impose any great demands on our members in terms of time commitment or financial expense. The main commitment is a willingness to attend a monthly lunch.”
