Secretary Carita Lablack has been involved with the club for six or so years and had never seen team numbers as high as 18.
“It’s fantastic to see different people all come together for one interest, playing mixed touch. We have people as young as 17 right through to the tradies who have some seniors,” she said.
Absolutely anyone can play, the atmosphere is great.

Games start from 6pm and see each team play three ladies on the field and the rest men for 40 minutes.
Tuesday’s skills were on show as each player dusted off their boots and took on the new season.
“We’ve taken out the marker rule this year to speed up the games. It’s a way to involve the ladies a little bit more as well,” Lablack said.
“It has created a little confusion but once we recommence we will go through the rules with all of our teams for 2016/17.”
The increased speed was noticed on Tuesday evening, along with increased talent on field.
“There is definitely more quality players this year and some great teams but we reiterate that this is a social comp and encourage beginners to experienced players.”
Because of Melbourne Cup all teams will commence again Tuesday week with the full draw to be drawn mid-November.
“The rounds have not been decided however we usually finish just before Easter.”
Teams are still looking to fill mens and womens positions for any keen touch players who haven’t yet registered.
“Absolutely anyone can play, the atmosphere is great,” she said.
There are four time slots throughout the night and each week there are two teams with a bye.
