The Armidale School year 12 student won the Round Square King Constantine Medal for continuous service in a specific field in school life.
“I was a bit surprised, I didn’t know the award existed,’’ he said.
He thinks his weekly visit to a primary school to read with students might have had something to do with it but the award actually covers six areas of endeavour.
“I guess I’m well rounded, I put myself out there and I like to have a go at everything.”
It sounds like it.
He is waiting on confirmation he has achieved his gold Duke of Edinburgh. He already has the bronze and silver. He runs, he plays soccer.
And he studies.
He won the award for academic excellence too and will sit the HSC exams in extension one maths, extension two maths, physics, economics, advanced English and extension one English. He hopes to go to university.
