Paint the town Read brought a reading bug into the classroom for all to meet.
However, the reading bug brought its own surprise when an egg appeared.
Paint the town Read executive director Barbie Bates said children of Moree were encouraged to read, rhyme, sing and dance to the egg in the hopes it will hatch.
“This egg will travel around to different playgroups, the local library, preschools and childcare centres and schools. So that the children of Moree can read, talk, and sing with it, to help the creature inside of it grow.”
The reading bug also visited the Moree hospital to launch New Books for Bubs.
The magical egg could appear anywhere.
