A massive crowd from near and far packed the Boggabilla Sports Ground to witness history in the making, with the Warriors going up against the Moree Boomerangs for the second week in a row.
The day was an amazing success, both on and off the field, with everyone concerned deserving a massive congratulations.
The only disadvantage was the westerly wind howling across the grounds, which did not deter anyone from enjoying a tremendous afternoon.
The Ladies League Tag once again fell short in a narrow 12-6 loss to the Rangs, where their continued improvement showed.
Hanna-Lee McGrady stepped through a number of defenders and then raced forty metres to score under the posts.
Renai Duroux converted the try for the Warriors six points. Unfortunately, the game finished early with a leg injury to Eunice McGrady, where we are all wishing her a speedy recovery.
The day was an amazing success, both on and off the field.

The Reserve Grade bounced back from last week’s loss to the Rangs with a comfortable 27-14 victory. Dallas Dennison starred in the point scoring department with three great tries, along with Keiren McGrady and Brett Sampson getting a four pointer each. Derrick Craigie kicked two goals in the windy conditions and Keiren McGrady calmly slotted a field goal after the full-time siren to make up the Warriors’ 27 points. Hard working back rower Michael Dennison got the coaches award.
The time had come for the main event and what the large crowd had come to see.
For the second week in a row, the Boomerangs were first to score, before the Warriors kicked into gear, running in eight tries to three in a dominant 48-14 victory.
The big men led the way up the middle with young gun front rower Liam Close getting a double, along with Lachlan Dennison, Rick McGrady and Robbie McIntosh all grabbing tries in the forwards.
Not to be out done, backs Darryl Ellis, Brandon McIntosh and Malcolm McGrady also got tries. For the second week in a row, Kerrod Sampson had the kicking boot on, slotting eight from eight, in atrocious conditions from all over the park.
Ashley Jarrett was also in the mix for the second week in a row, getting the NBN points.
The Warriors will be on the road again this Saturday as they head to Guyra for another top of the table clash, after Guyra claimed the big scalps of Inverell and the Moree Boars in the last fortnight.
It will be an early start with Reserve Grade starting at 11.30am and A Grade at 1pm.
