Current Member for Parkes Mark Coulton believes he can best serve the electorate after three terms in the role, but he has some opposition.
Five candidates are currently in the running and include Labor’s Kate Stewart, Matt Parmeter from the Greens and Glen Ryan from the Christian Democratic Party.
The latest candidate to throw his hat into the ring is John Ayton, the Online Direct Democracy's candidate for the July 2 election.
Mr Ayton, a father of four and a musician from Tottenham, worked in the media and marketing industry for the last ten years before deciding to stand for his home electorate and make a difference with a unique new party.
He said he was passionate about issues including health and education, water management and the future of the Murray Darling Basin along with helping constituents raise their voice for the issues they care about.
We are bound by the majority vote, we have to follow what the people want rather than toe any sort of party line.
- John Ayton
He said his party takes a unique stance as far as measuring what it's constituents care about.
"We are bound by the majority vote, we have to follow what the people want rather than toe any sort of party line," Mr Ayton said.
"This means we create a computer platform that allows us to poll each electorate we are in and we take the national consensus to parliament. With that we poll each electorate individually and each elected member can stand by the polled responses from our constituents."
"We want to raise awareness that there's more than the Liberal, Labor and National Parties in this area."
The new candidate said his campaign was steadily building momentum.
He is preparing to take a tour out west, including to areas around Moree, to meet constituents and hear their take on local issues.
He encouraged community members to visit pollyweb.org to find out more about his party and also to see first-hand the new technology and innovation the party hopes to bring to parliament.
