BELLATA Public School students braved the heat and cheered each other on at their annual cross country on May 5.

The sunny day kicked off at 10am at the sports oval with staff and students walking the course.
The five to seven year-olds were first to the line, and enjoyed enthusiastic encouragement from their older peers during the 1km race.
“They all performed really well, the big kids all cheered them on,” publicity officer Gabrielle Miller said proudly. Chloe Gillogly came first in the girls, with Audrey Cooper and Lexi Hayes not far behind.
Tyler Stolzenberg was the boys champion, followed by Andrew Stolzenberg and Flynn McPherson.
They all performed really well, the big kids all cheered them on.

The eight and nine year olds were next up, with Allira Stolzenberg and Max Gillogly taking the girls and boys races. Imigen Hayes won second place in the girls, while Angus McPherson and Lachlan Miller came in second and third in the boys. The 11 to 13 year olds gave their all in the 3km course. Bodee Scott came first in the 11 years boys, followed by Thomas Roach and Charlie Kirkby.
Carly Farr was at the top of the 12-13 year girls, with Mia Stewart and Holly Hayes in second and third.
The 12-13 boys winner was Max Christie, and Hamish McPherson took second place.
11 students will now go on to represent Bellata at the zone level.
