Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall dropped into the club to deliver news of the successful application for funding through the Community Building Partnership (CBP) grant and discuss plans for the upgrade.

“The club will use this grant to install stainless steel bench tops and put in new cupboards and shelving,” Mr Marshall said.

“Part of the kitchen has already been upgraded to stainless steel benchtops and shelving. “This grant will help them remove the existing old cupboards and replace them. It’s a well-used and important community facility and I was very pleased to support the club’s funding application.”

Mr Marshall said assisting sporting clubs improve their facilities was vital and the CBP grants were not only building partnerships in communities, but also helping to sustain them.

“The CPB grants are there to help ease some of the financial burden on these small community clubs as they struggle to remain viable and maintain their facilities to appropriate standards,” he said.

Bowling Club manager Scott Ramsay said the club was very grateful for the support they received from Mr Marshall in securing the grant and was looking forward to getting the work underway.

“Our club is a great place for families to come; it’s an important community hub and this grant is a great start to getting our kitchen upgraded to meet health and safety standards,” Mr Ramsay said.

“We’ll be putting in new serving benches and replacing the floor coverings. “The grant is very welcome.”
