Head Teacher Sam Cosgrove will be joined by two new associates Abby Price and Emily Cosgrove.
Price has been doing physie for 14 years. She has been assisting Cosgrove since she took over the company five to six years ago, she will be taking the ladies class this year.
Cosgrove is Sam Cosgrove’s cousin she has been doing physie for eight years and has been assisting for six years. She will be taking four to eight year class with Karen Biggs.
“It is good because they have a new perspective on dance because they are younger, they have a different outlook on dance and bring a fresh face for the girls,” Cosgrove said.
BJP Physie students are in for a surprise this year as routines have seemed to change.
“From the routines I have seen they’re taking a very contemporary approach with quite a bit of hip hop, they are very modern this year which is good.
“Our younger girls don’t tend to get the hip hop routine but they are bringing it in to nine year olds. The jazz they normally see has taken a hip hop turn.”
The students will be learning a lot of technique during the first and second term. They will also be learning a new syllabus.
In term two a Physie teacher from Queensland will hold a workshop. During the year Cosgrove will bring in other teachers to help out.
