FIVE swimmers from the Mungindi swim club competed at the NSW Country Regional swimming championships which took place in Moree on January 9 and 10. Swimmers from all over the state converged on Moree for the two day carnival.

Amongst tough competition, all 5 swimmers swam great PB’s over the two days of competition.
Isabelle Seigmeier who is only 7 years old bravely stepped up to the blocks and competed in the 9 years and under events and clocked impressive times and improved 3 of her PBs. Belle placed 21st in fly, 25th in Breaststroke and 25th in backstroke.
Tommy Tootell narrowly missed a place, coming in 4th in the 9yrs and Under 100m backstroke. An impressive effort given that Tommy is only still 8 years old. Tommy also placed 9th in the 50 Fly, 6th in the 200IM, 8th in the 100 Free, 15th in the 50 Breast, 9th in 50 Back, 5th in 100 Breast and 6th in 50 Free.
Henry Seigmeier also had an awesome two days of swimming, with 6 Personal Bests being achieved. Henry placed 12th in the 9 years and under 50 Fly, 10th in the 200 IM, 13th in 100 Free, 19th in 50 Back, 9th in 100 Breast, 16th in the 50 Breast and 12th in 50 Free.
Clancy Wright came away with 3 bronze medals in the 10 years 50 Breast, 100 Breast and the 100m Fly. Clancy narrowly missed out on a place in the 50m Fly and 200IM, stopping the clock in 4th place for both these races. Clancy had a busy schedule over the 2 days and placed 5th in the 100 Back, 8th in 100 Free, 7th in the 50 Back and 7th in the 50 Free. Clancy swam 4 PB times for the weekend.
Hayley Wright gained a silver medal in the 11 years 100 Breast, and bronze medals in the 50 Fly and 50 Breast. Hayley also had a hectic program and placed 9th in the 100 Back, 6th in the 200IM, 10th in the 100 Free, 5th in the 100 Fly, 11in the 50 back and 8th in the 50 Free. Hayley improved her PB in the 100m Fly by a massive 9.39s.
