With only seven or eight weeks left of cricket committee members are still signing on new members.
Junior Cricket committee member, David Watts, said they have new members that signed up that have moved to town or decided they wanted to play. We did also lose some kids in top divisions because of school.
Even though there has been cricketers leaving the numbers are still about the 160 mark.
“We will never knock back players. We want to encourage as many kids to play any sport. We will open up our arms to any kid that wants to play the sport,” Watts said.
The under 12’s and under 16’s rep cricket teams are both playing Armidale this weekend. If they win they will make it to the grand final.
Under 16’s will be playing on Taylor Oval, Under 12’s will be playing on Ron Harborne Oval. Everyone is encouraged to support the juniors.
“Under 12’s are sitting in second place, we have Edward Montgomery leading the group. We are hopeful for both the under 12’s and under 16’s. All in all we are happy with junior cricket; everything just keeps rolling on well.”
