Three people have been charged with his murder after his body was found in Mount Eccles National Park about 4pm on Friday afternoon.
Two 19-year-old men and a 34-year-old woman, all from Hamilton, were arrested after police executed warrants in Hamilton on Saturday morning.
Homicide Squad detectives charged the three with murder on Saturday night.
They have been remanded in custody to appear in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday.
Friends took to social media on Saturday to remember "the great man Josh Kane was".
"Rest in peace my fallen friend no one ever deserves this and my deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the Kane family and extended family," one friend posted.
"Rest in peace my friend."
Another posted: "Another life tragically taken away too soon. Rest in peace Josh Kane. Tragic news so close to home."
UPDATE SATURDAY 10.40pm: THREE people have been charged with murder after the body of a 20-year-old man was found in Mount Eccles National Park on Friday afternoon.
Two men, both aged 19, and a 34-year-old woman, all from Hamilton have been remanded in cusody and will appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday.
The three were arrested on Saturday following the execution of warrants.

Two men and a woman, all from Hamilton, were arrested following the execution of warrants in Hamilton on Saturday morning.
The trio are currently being interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad.
The body of a 20-year-old Hamilton man was located in bushland at Mount Eccles about 4pm yesterday afternoon.
UPDATE FRIDAY 8.30pm: The Standard understands a body has been found at Mount Eccles National Park.
EARLIER: ACCESS is being denied to campers and the public at a Macarthur national park.
The Standard understands Mount Eccles National Park has been closed to visitors by police.
Police declined to comment on any incidents at the park.
The Standard believes campers have been turned away and it is understood the park was shut on Friday afternoon.
