Cartwright brothers competed in the Street Stocker division against 27 cars with Tim finishing second place on the night.
“I was pleased with my results on the night.
“I tried a few new things with the set-up of my car and it worked well.”
Tim placed third in the first heat, second in the third heat but did not finish after spinning off the track in the second heat.
The points from the heat and feature races will contribute to the series point total.
“It is hard to know where I am placed at the moment after not finishing in the second heat.”
Ben also had an intense night of racing starting 11th and finishing fifth in the feature.
“The competition was good. There were so many good cars there that could run the top five all night.
“It is not going to be an easy competition."
Ben placed fourth in the first heat, first in the second heat and looked like he would have a promising third in the third heat until he spun out in the last corner and finished eighth.
“I felt very comfortable in my car thanks to the set-up working well,” Ben said.
“This is the first time I have finished well in a feature in a while.
“Thanks to Josh Isaac, Darren Walton and Wayne Sherman for helping with the set-up of the race cars.
“Also to Boland’s Petroleum, DB Precision Engines and New England Truck and Autos, without them it would be difficult to participate in speedway.”
Both Ben and Tim are sitting comfortably at the top of the leader board; with Ben positioned third and Tim positioned one point behind him in fourth position.
The Cartwright brothers both have minor repairs to their cars before racing in the second round in Tamworth on December 19.
