It was one of a series of children’s theatre workshops provided by Lemlor Productions touring across the region.
Arts North West has worked with Lemlor Productions to manage and deliver this production in Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Barraba and Moree. It will then travel to Narrabri and Quirindi, before heading to Bingara and Gunnedah.
Arts North West project officer, Nicci Parry-Jones, said the network pools resources and collective buying power to offer the region performing arts opportunities to their communities.
“The children commented on the fact that most of them enjoyed the workshop day,” she said.
“Some of them were shy. They mainly loved performing for family and friends; they also loved learning about theatre stories and stage work.”
She said reports coming in from this workshop across the region showed it had been hugely successful and the children enjoyed the experience immensely.
“It was possible to offer the workshop at a significantly subsidised rate as it was funded by Regional Arts NSW through the Regional Arts Fund.”
Lemlor Productions principal and co-creative director, Irene Lemon, said they fully cater each workshop and the kids play with latex BASEL masks.
