Trainee club manager, Codie Kennedy, said the idea to host the junior competition was driven by the success of the PCYC’s senior Thursday evening netball competition.
“We have been asked by a number of parents to introduce Junior Mixed Indoor Netball to our activities list and we didn’t hesitate. We believe it offers children a great opportunity to be involved in a mixed structured competition,” she said.

A meeting was held in midSeptember to address the competition’s structure which drew a lot of interest from parents.
“Tina Macey has been a driving force behind the introduction of this competition and we thank her for her support in this,” Kennedy said.
The competition will run of a Saturday morning from 9am to 11am pending team numbers.
“We have we believe a few teams in the mix at the moment and are hoping that once school resumes we may see another few entered. The competition will be run at the PCYC indoor centre opposite the main club.”
There will be two divisions 9-11 years as division two and 12-15 years as division one.
“We again thank Angela Heath and Tina Macey for coming forward to coordinate both of these divisions. All teams are required to have a team coordinator/coach registered on their nomination forms,” Kennedy explained.
She encouraged all local juniors to get involved and believed no experience was necessary to participate.
“People can collect team nomination forms from the club at 342 Boston Street or call 67523741 and we can email or fax. We are taking both single and team nominations.
“As a club we would love to get this new activity of the ground and another alternative for children during the spring/summer. If you have any enquires please do not hesitate to contact the office by phone or email and we will be more than willing to answer all of your questions,” Kennedy said.
