Moree BMX, Tourism Moree and Garah Community Fundraiser were just a few of the 96 groups to receive an annual bonus from the CPP at last week’s presentation.
The organisation that received the largest cheque was Fairview, which was handed $7682.
Fairview CEO, Brett Arthur, said the Moree community really supported them.
“We started receiving support from the CPP since it first opened here in Moree; the amounts have been increasing every year,” Mr Arthur said.
“This cheque will be used to provide equipment for the comfort and care of our residents. (New England Mutual) certainly look after the community. NEM have the community's interest at heart.”
New England Mutual's branch manager, Bronte Egan, said the program came at no cost to their members.
“To participate members need to save with a selected account, and while it’s easy to join, members are nonetheless making a huge difference in our community,” she said.
Established seven years ago, the program has grown to have thousands of supporters, with local charities reaping the benefits. Mrs Egan explained why the program has been so successful.
“Our members are able to actively play a part of making a difference locally, the program evokes such a great community spirit,” she said.
