Legacy needs your support; it is one of Australia’s most iconic organisations and the only kind in the world.
It all started in Gallipoli when a wounded solider asked his mate to look after his “missus and the kids”.
Since 1923 the organisation grew and blossomed to what it is today.
Legacy still supports over 90,000 families of defence force men and women who have scarified their lives and health for this great country.
Today we have lost more than 100,000 defence force personnel with more seriously injured or mentally ill.
Moree Services Club manager, Graham James, said the Moree Services Club (MSC) support Legacy.
“Legacy provides support to widows and families of servicemen and women who have lost their lives or have been wounded whilst serving their country,” Mr James said.
“MSC donates $3300 towards their badge day each year and provides rooms for their monthly meetings, change over dinners, Widows luncheons and Movies.”
Tomorrow you will be able to buy pins, arm bands, pens and teddy bears at the Coles complex, outside Apple Organic and Sullivan’s newsagency.
You will also be able buy raffle tickets to win linen.
Torch Bearers for Legacy Moree Branch, Secretary, Di Amos said the MSC donating $3300 is such a fabulous start.
“It really does kick start the fundraising,” Mrs Amos said.
“Moree is one of the highest fundraisers for legacy in country NSW.”
