The PO was packed with local bands, the Contingency Plan and Out of Phase, playing to raise funds for Nigel.
Fundraiser organiser, Belle Humphries, said $2800 was raised throughout the night.
“The town showed great support; there was easily over 200 people there,” Miss Humphries said.
Out of Phase band member, John Fing, raised $760 to have his ponytail cut off for the occasion.
“The bands were great; they hyped up the crowd and showed support for Nigel and donated their services for the night,” Miss Humphries said.
Donations from Saturday will go towards helping Nigel tick off his bucket list.
This is the fourth time Nigel has been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma.
Nigel said plans had now changed as he had stopped his treatment.
“The treatment isn’t working,” Nigel said.
“They’ve told me to live my life to the fullest while I can.” He was trying the last type of chemotherapy available.
“The doctors have now given me the all-clear to fly,” Nigel said.
“I now have the chance to go over to England and France like I have always wanted to but I have to do it as soon as I can.”
Nigel is planning his trip abroad and would like to thank the community for their ongoing support.
“I am still going do the Great Barrier Reef but the UK has always been my dream holiday and I would like to do that first,” he said.
“I am also looking forward to the fundraiser ball.
“It is international themed and called ‘Bring the World to Nigel’ because I want to see so much of the world, but can’t.”
The fancy dress ball will be held on Saturday, August 22. It is $20 a ticket or $250 for a reserved table of 10.
