Don’t teachers already have enough to do?
A teacher’s role is changing so much now, they might as well become a child’s full time carer.
They are no longer just teaching children the basic education needs, they are now expected to go over and above and become in touch with the students’ emotional needs.
Yes, domestic violence education is an important subject for children to learn.
Would it make sense though, to set aside special class time and bring in social workers, local police officers and others who are specifically trained in such fields?
Teachers need to concentrate on the children’s maths, and literacy skills that are needed for everyday life, and which seem to be becoming poorer as time continues.
Learning about all these extra life skills is great to give kids the best start to life, and hopefully prepare them even better for the future, but giving teachers even more work isn’t the answer.
Will teachers eventually be required to complete psychology degrees whilst studying teaching so they can handle such components correctly?
