The Western Zone teams weekend were selected to attend the NSW Trap Carnival at Wagga Wagga in October.
Teams were selected across three events including the double barrel, single barrel and point score.
The teams consisted of the top five open, top three ladies, juniors and veterans.
The NSW Western Zone teams include:
• Open - Clyde Mitchell, Robert Thompson, Matt Schiller, Mark Rogers and Kyle Walton
• Veteran - Graham Baylis, Ross Morris Peter Fitzalan
• Junior - Darragh Newton, Oliver Rogers and Mackinley Codrington
• Ladies - Theresa Montgomery, Lauren Love and Kate Edwards.
Moree has the privilege of conducting this carnival about every five years in rotation with clubs in the zone which covers the western part of the state including Moree to Bourke, Dubbo and Cobar.
This year a 12-person postal team was also selected from the top scorers of the first 25 targets of the point scoring event.
The NSW Western Zone postal team included, Paul Tattam, Brian Kneipp, Mackinley Codrington, Andrew McManus, Kyle Walton, Mark Rogers, Matt Schiller, Graham Baylis, Dallas Codrington, John Harris, Luke Kirkby and Bryan Manns.
Clay Target Club secretary, Brett Farlow said the turn-out was great.
“Over the past few years we have attracted a field of about 80 to 90 shooters, so this year having 140 attend made it a big weekend for all our members,” he said.
